A youth-led humanitarian organisation dedicated to empowering vulnerable and disadvantaged young people with skills, opportunities, and resources across Zimbabwe
Youth Empowerment and Economic Development Organization (YEED) is a nonprofit youth-led humanitarian organisation operating in Zimbabwe, dedicated to empowering young people from less privileged, vulnerable, and disadvantaged communities. Founded by young people of different professional backgrounds who studied abroad and spent more than 10 years working voluntarily in humanitarian work, YEED is a goal-driven team determined to achieve an empowered youth generation for an economically advanced economy.
Operating in compliance with the Private Voluntary Organization (PVO) Act [Chapter 17:05] and relevant national youth policies, YEED delivers impactful programmes across youth skills development, entrepreneurship, agriculture, leadership, civic engagement, and community development. We are committed to inclusive, accountable, and impactful youth empowerment programming that drives economic growth and social transformation in Zimbabwe.
YEED delivers a comprehensive range of programmes designed to equip vulnerable and disadvantaged young people with the skills, opportunities, and resources they need to build better lives and contribute meaningfully to Zimbabwe’s economic and social development. Our core programme areas include:
Vocational and technical skills training, digital literacy, life skills development, and job placement support.
Climate-smart agriculture training, youth-led agribusiness initiatives, and renewable energy and green jobs promotion.
Start-up and small business development training, access to seed capital, business incubation, and financial literacy.
Youth leadership and governance training, gender equality and inclusion mainstreaming, and disability-inclusive programming.
