At Youth Empowerment and Economic Development Organization (YEED), we believe that inclusivity, accountability, and a genuine commitment to empowering Zimbabwe’s most vulnerable young people are the pillars of everything we do. We are a nonprofit youth-led humanitarian organisation operating in Zimbabwe, dedicated to empowering young people from less privileged, vulnerable, and disadvantaged communities with the skills, opportunities, and resources they need to build better lives and contribute meaningfully to Zimbabwe’s sustainable development.
Headquartered at 23 Kingsmead Road, Borrowdale, Harare, YEED operates in compliance with the Private Voluntary Organization (PVO) Act [Chapter 17:05] and relevant national youth policies. We are driven by a deep belief that every young person, regardless of their background or circumstances, deserves an opportunity to thrive, contribute, and build a better future for themselves, their communities, and their nation.
Youth Empowerment and Economic Development Organization (YEED) was founded by young people of different professional backgrounds who studied abroad and spent more than 10 years working voluntarily in humanitarian work. With different unique skills and experiences, together we make a goal driven team which is determined to achieve an empowered youth generation for an economically advanced economy.
Since our establishment, we have built a growing reputation as a trusted and impactful organisation dedicated to youth empowerment and community development across Zimbabwe. Through our core programmes and community development projects, we are making a real and lasting difference in the lives of young people and communities across Zimbabwe.
An inclusive Zimbabwe where young people are economically empowered, skilled, and actively contributing to Sustainable National Development.
To empower vulnerable and disadvantaged youth with skills, opportunities, and resources that enhance employability, entrepreneurship, and economic resilience.
We believe that children and young people should be given meaningful opportunities to contribute to decisions that affect their lives, communities, and future.
We promote openness, honesty, and accountability in all our programmes, partnerships, and activities.
We value diversity and ensure that all young people, regardless of background, gender, disability, religion, or social status, are included and represented in everything we do.
We are committed to equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
We encourage young people to understand their rights, responsibilities, and role in community development and nation building.
